Best Smart Life Compatible Plugs & Sockets (2026 Guide)

Expert Buying Tips

Before you scroll to the products, keep these three things in mind for 2026:

  1. Energy Monitoring: Look for plugs labeled „Energy Monitoring“ if you want to track your electricity costs in real-time within the Smart Life app.

  2. Matter Support: If you want future-proof devices that work across Apple Home and Smart Life simultaneously, choose a Matter-certified plug.

  3. Space Savings: If you have tight wall outlets, choose „Mini“ or „Slim“ designs so you don’t block the second socket.

Smart Plug FAQ

Can I use a Smart Life plug for my air conditioner?

Only if the AC is under the plug’s rated wattage (usually 1800W / 15A). Check your AC’s label first!

Most Smart Life plugs require a 2.4GHz connection, but many 2026 models now support Dual-Band (2.4/5GHz).

This is the most common question for new users! Both apps are developed by the same company (Tuya Inc.) and are virtually identical in features and device compatibility.

  • Smart Life: Branded as the „universal“ consumer version. It’s the most popular choice for general users.

  • Tuya Smart: Originally designed for manufacturers and developers, but works exactly the same for home users.

  • Which should you choose? We recommend Smart Life for most users because it tends to receive updates and third-party integrations (like IFTTT) slightly faster. You do not need both; pick one and stay with it!
